Hello, I am Yuki Nabende a member of GBN mainly working as a translator.
I had been involved in a multi-culture environment for quite a while, hence my interest in international cooperation, but I had been unable to put it into practice until I met Maiko-san, the director of GBN who is actively working on Improvement of Educational Environment for girls in Uganda. Listening to her stories about how she had started the projects and kept running the projects, I started to think if there was anything I could do to contribute whilst joining the GBN team.
Since my main task is translating, what I do may not directly make any changes but understanding the situation well and translating all what is written on paper into a language that anyone can easily understand is what I consider something small yet a very important role in connecting the two countries and that is how I became part of this team.
I hope that I will continue to be involved in GBN activities and be part of the team that bridges and connects Japan and Uganda.
