INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
In 2024 Roadside primary school got support from Global Bridge Network of three sewing machines and some materials used in making reusable sanitary pads. This happened after being visited by GBN team at school in 2023 where the administration of Roadside Primary school introduced the challenges faced by learners especially girls during their menstruation periods including; absence of changing room at school, poor sanitation due to lack of stable source of water, absence of sanitary wears at school, lack of knowledge and information about menstrual Hygiene Management at school and also in the entire community.
PROGRESS OF EACH ACTIVITY
<1st/11/2024> Activity 3.1 Training other community members how to make reusable sanitary pads using a sewing machine
In this activity community members who have already know how to make reusable sanitary pads managed to train their fellow ten community members who did not get the opportunity for the first and second quarters due to inadequate machines.
PURPOSE OF THE TRAINING intends to train all targeted vulnerable women in line of helping them from using unsafe materials like dirty cloth, polythene bags, papers, etc. during their menstruation periods. This activity will also help them to become self-employed that will lead to the promotion of their rights and feeling comfortable in their respective areas.
Trained community members are trying to train their fellows who missed a chance in the previous project trainings due to inadequate machines.

<15th/11/2024> Activity 3.2 Hands on by community members using sawing machine
This activity gave the community members a chance to practice what they learnt practically in order gain skills and make a project more valuable.

<1st/12/2024> Activity 3.3 reusable sanitary pad making by community members who have already learnt how to make pads
This activity intends to make more pads for the vulnerable who are always using papers and dirty cloth during their menstruation periods. This will help to reduce on challenges especially diseases faced by vulnerable women amongst the community members due to usage of dirty and unsafe materials during their menstruation periods.

<10th/1/2025> Activity 3.4 sanitary pad training for boys
In our effort of promoting menstrual hygiene management among vulnerable girls and women in mityana we discovered that involving boys will add more value to our campaign because boys are the men of tomorrow therefore this activity intended to train and brainstorming 3 boys about reusable sanitary pad making and also gaining skills for their life sustainability. This activity healed at roadside primary school mityana municipality busimbi division.
